Second champions

Picking after your lane opponent lets you choose between your champions. These lists show the second champion that adds most to your main: you play it whenever it does better against the enemy laner. Lane counters are small once both champions’ strength is taken out. So the champion that adds most is usually just a stronger one, better in nearly every lane. The second list keeps to partners that beat your main in at most 60% of its lanes. They cover the lanes your main loses, and your main keeps the rest.

How it’s computed. Strength and lane counters come from the tier model, which takes out mastery, rank and games on the champion. Against each lane opponent, a champion does its strength plus its counter (lanes with 50+ games; otherwise the strength alone). Opponents are weighted by how often the enemy laner picks them when they aren’t banned. The number is the wins added per 1,000 games where you pick after your lane opponent, over always playing your main. Partners need 300+ games in the role. The margin counts the error in both champions’ strength. Each champion’s Explore tab has patch and rank slices of these. The guide
